Finding the right tool

I am a elementary major and found an awesome idea called virtual field trips. These trips could be presented in the form of a movie, slide show, or website. They take the kids to places they normally won't or can't go like the rainforest, Antarctica, and even the White House. The teacher takes their time to make these "trips" or she can find plenty of links online. These virtual trips could be presented to the class weekly or bi-weekly. At the end of the year the teacher can give them the assignment of creating their own trip to present to the class. The teacher can get them started with providing valuable resources from the internet.  The higher grade students can even be quizzed at the end of the week after taking the trips and doing other activities throughout the week.
